RWE has been demonstrating the Energy to Lead with its transparency initiative since 2007. That was the year we started to publish extensive data on the German electricity generation of our power stations – on our own initiative and free of charge for all users. Today RWE publishes all generation data in real time.
Transparency is a much-discussed topic across the entire European energy market. The EU has obliged all power station operators to inform the public in as much detail and as quickly as possible about the current status of electricity production and any problems at the power stations that could lead to lower performance or even plant outages.
RWE and its subsidiaries generate power primarily in Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. The transparency homepage provides with respect to the EC regulations EC Reg. 1227/2011 (REMIT) and EC Reg.543/2013 (Transparency) all inside market and production related information – wherever possible - about the individual units of the power stations. As a result, any interested user can gain a precise picture of the status of the RWE electricity generation.
