Managing Director & Head of Energy Transition Investments

Costas is an investment and commercial executive with over 20 years’ experience across the entire value chain of the energy industry. Costas joined the RWE Group in 2008 having a background in management consulting and engineering. Costas holds an MSc and PhD degree in Engineering from RWTH Aachen in Germany.

Principal

Stephen has over 15 years’ experience from various roles in the energy industry. He joined the RWE Group in 2009 and worked on LNG deal origination and business development in Europe, Middle East and India. In 2013, Stephen joined the Principal Investments team, and leads the funds’ investment activities in North America. Stephen holds a BE in Mechanical Engineering from University College Dublin.

Principal

Rob joined RWE Principal Investments in 2018 and has over twelve years of finance and private equity experience.  After beginning his career as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers, Rob invested in the energy and resource sectors at Denham Capital and TrailStone. Rob graduated cum laude with a degree in economics from Middlebury College and has a masters degree from London Business School.

Associate

Marcel joined RWE Energy Transition Investments in 2022 and holds four years of investment banking experience. Prior to joining RWE, Marcel was an Associate at Deutsche Bank and an Analyst at RBC Capital Markets. He holds an MSc in Finance from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

Senior Associate

Hamza joined RWE Energy Transition Investments in 2023. Hamza has 8 years of experience from various commercial roles in the energy sector. He joined RWE Group in 2019 and in his most recent role Hamza was responsible for M&A and development stage partnerships within the offshore wind space in USA. Hamza holds a Bachelor’s in Finance and Accounting from University of Nottingham and a Master’s in International Business and Finance from University of Applied Sciences Berlin.
