Overview of programme

From here, we’re providing flexible generation and playing a key role in the energy transition.

For 2026, we are looking for graduate Electrical Engineers in Germany. Our Graduate Electrical Engineers will work on an array of technologies, and get involved in operations and maintenance (O&M) at our assets, engineering projects and commercial topics. You could be based at any of our locations, in Germany, the Netherlands or the UK – so flexibility during and after your programme is required.

  • As part of our Graduate programme, you will experience an exciting introduction to the technologies within RWE Generation: Batteries, Biomass, Gas, Hydro & Storage and Hydrogen. You will take on responsibility at an early stage and be exposed to exciting and meaningful tasks. In addition, we will accelerate your personal development with workshops, training and networking opportunities. The combination of this development and on-the-job training will ready you for a career as an Engineer with RWE!

    Any of RWE Generation’s locations in Germany, the Netherlands or the UK – flexibility is key! One International rotation is allowed during your programme.


  • A university degree (MA preferred) in
    • Electrical Engineering or a similar subject 
    Other requirements
    • Relevant internships or work experience
    • Enjoy working in an international team in the energy sector
    • A strong analytical and conceptual mindset
    • A high degree of initiative, responsibility and commitment
    • A strong customer focus, and willingness to travel (and possibly relocate) nationally and abroad
    • Strong command of the English language and, possibly, further language skills (e.g. Dutch or German)

    Pre-selection period mid-March 2026 to late-April 2026
    Assessment centre first week of June 2026

Development & training 

This strengths-based programme is designed specifically for graduates, letting you shape your own path and experience personalised learning in immersive work environments. You’ll find a mixture of online education, face-to-face workshops, on-the-job training and networking events.

Your mentor and assigned buddy can help advise you on rotations and introduce you to industry experts so that you can explore all aspects of the energy value chain.
