RWE strengthens its leadership team: Hildegard Müller, currently Chairwoman of the General Executive Management Board and Member of the Executive Board of the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft – BDEW), will join the RWE Group from 1 May 2016 and take on a role on a board of one of the Group companies as part of the upcoming restructuring activities.

In her current function Ms Müller has proven to be a skilful leader with an excellent ability to reconcile different interests. She was instrumental in shaping the association in recent years, which have been a very difficult time for the industry", says Peter Terium, CEO of RWE AG. "With her experience and skills, Ms Müller will be a valuable addition to our team and contribute to moving the Group forward, especially during this current restructuring phase", adds Terium.

Since October 2008, Hildegard Müller has been Chairwoman of the General Executive Management and Member of the Executive Board of the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft – BDEW), Berlin. After training as a bank clerk with Dresdner Bank AG she graduated in business management. From 2002, Hildegard Müller was a member of the German Parliament, the Bundestag. From 2005 until 2008 she was Minister of State with the German Chancellor, with responsibility for Federal/State coordination of the German Federal Government and for reducing bureaucracy.
