Using AI in your application

Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to significantly improve our products, services and processes, supporting both our employees and RWE’s commitment to sustainability.

As a forward-thinking employer, we believe these tools should be embraced rather than restricted – as long as they are used ethically. An application is an opportunity for both of us to find out whether the role is a good match. So while we encourage you to make use of GenAI, we also want to make sure we have enough opportunity to get to know the real you.

That’s why we recommend using AI thoughtfully to strengthen your application and help you prepare for the different stages of the recruitment process – but not to write your application or answer questions for you.

Generic applications and copied answers are easy to spot and don’t show us your unique skills or how you could fit into #TeamRWE. We look forward to receiving your application and getting to know you better throughout our recruitment process.

Job interview:
Go in prepared

It’s not about memorising the perfect answers. Show us who you are and what motivates you.

  • Take some time before your interview to get to know RWE and the area you’ve applied to a little better. Find out what defines RWE as a company, the business areas we operate in and what the relevant part of the business does. This will help you better understand the role and the wider context you could be working in.

Read the job description again carefully and familiarise yourself with the responsibilities and requirements.

  • Think of specific situations from school, university, vocational training, your career or other projects that demonstrate how you work and the strengths you bring. These might include challenges you’ve overcome, tasks where you’ve taken responsibility or situations where you’ve worked successfully as part of a team.

Don’t just think about what you did. Consider how you approached the situation and what you learnt from it. Specific examples help us get to know you and understand your experience better.

  • Your own questions show that you’re interested – and a good conversation works both ways.

Before your interview, think about what you’d like to ask and what you want to find out. You could use the following questions as inspiration:

    • How does the team work together?
    • What can I expect during my first few months?
    • What does a typical working day at RWE look like?
    • What does the onboarding process look like?
    • What are the team’s current challenges?
    • What opportunities are there for me to develop?
