- Power to be supplied by existing West Texas projects Panther Creek I, II and III
- Agreement will provide power to Texas grid in support of Oracle’s data center operations
RWE today announced a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with Oracle for 433 megawatts (MW) of domestic electricity production. The agreement provides power from RWE’s existing Panther Creek I, II and III wind farms in West Texas located in Sterling, Howard and Glasscock counties.
RWE’s VPPA is part of the broader portfolio of power investments announced by Oracle, which collectively represents more than 1.7 gigawatts (GW) of electricity generation capacity supporting the Texas grid.

Panther Creek I and II were repowered in the third quarter of 2019. Panther Creek III was repowered in 2021. Across their lifetime, these projects are expected to generate more than $70 million in property tax revenues for the counties of Sterling, Howard and Glasscock. These funds help support schools, roads, emergency services and other essential public services that families rely on every day.
