The TetraSpar concept – a steel-tube support structure with a keel suspended beneath it – was tested in Norway. The floating platform, including a 3.6 MW turbine, was installed at Metcentre, a test site located around 10 kilometres off the Norwegian coast at a water depth of 200 metres. After around five years at sea, the floating turbine was decommissioned in the summer of 2026 and brought back to port. This enables a comprehensive inspection and analysis of the underwater structure.
