“Scotland is an important market for RWE and therefore a key part of its future investment and growth story. With a strong record of delivery and an extensive pipeline of renewable energy projects in development, RWE is fully committed to helping Scotland achieve its ambitious climate change targets, whilst enabling the nation's supply chain to maximise the benefits and rewards of a robust renewables industry.”

RWE, one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies, has today announced a new Scottish Supplier Directory for businesses interested in providing goods and services to its own rapidly expanding pipeline of projects, as well as the wider industry. Scotland-based suppliers are invited to register their details via the portal while, in turn, companies looking to take on new contractors will also be able to search the directory, ensuring greater visibility and uptake.

From today, the RWE Scottish Supplier Directory will open for new registrations. It will then be available to all companies, whether registered or not, to view from mid-January 2022. Sign-up is straightforward and, once up and running, can be accessed via: www.rwe.com/rwe-in-scotland. Once a company has registered, their details can be easily edited and updated as required in future, and will be fully listed within the search function.

RWE has created this searchable database to help make it easier for its own and other industry contractors to access registered businesses in Scotland, and to maximize opportunities emerging from the growing renewables sector. It is developing the largest offshore wind pipeline in the UK, and expects to grow its Scottish renewables base as part of a broader commitment to investing £15billion in the UK up to 2030.  Further, a recent RWE-funded report with ORE catapult has flagged that the manufacture of low carbon concrete foundations for new floating wind projects from Crown Estate Scotland’s ScotWind leasing round, also presents a major opportunity for local ports and businesses.

With its breadth and depth of experience, capabilities and technologies, RWE is an ideal energy partner for Scotland. It has a strong pipeline of development projects, and is fully committed to helping the country achieve its ambitious climate change targets. RWE was a pioneer of the offshore wind industry in the UK and is now #2 in the world for offshore wind, developing and building some of the most advanced offshore wind projects. RWE is an experienced full-lifecycle owner and partner of renewable projects at all stages including development, construction, operation and decommissioning.

The clean energy company also takes a close interest in new and emerging technologies such as floating wind and hydrogen. It is identifying opportunities that will capitalise on the RWE’s vast experience in fixed offshore wind, and is involved in a number of floating wind demonstration projects around the world, with a view to being a long-term partner for Scotland.
