RWE uses electricity from its own solar and wind power plants to produce 100% climate-neutral and thus green hydrogen. During (water) electrolysis, water is split into hydrogen and oxygen with the help of electricity. RWE will make the hydrogen available via various channels.
RWE is planning to supply hydrogen via filling facilities where hydrogen trailers can be filled with green, certified hydrogen. The trailers can transport hydrogen directly to the customer across long distances.

Hydrogen will be supplied through emerging pipeline networks such as H2ercules. The pipeline between Lingen, Marl, and Gelsenkirchen-Scholven will become part of the hydrogen core network. In the long term, RWE customers throughout Germany will be able to be supplied with high-quality hydrogen over long distances.
Our electrolysis plants at the RWE site in Lingen will reliably supply hydrogen from 2025. Companies will be able to purchase this hydrogen directly from RWE in quantities tailored to their needs.
