RWE successfully issues its third US dollar green bond, further expanding its presence in the US debt capital market

  • US$1.5 billion dual-tranche green bond: 5-year and 10-year tranches of US$750 million each with coupons of 5.625% p.a. and 6.000% p.a., respectively
  • Funds will be used to finance projects according to RWE’s Green Financing Framework

RWE has successfully issued its third green US dollar bond with a total volume of US$1.5 billion. The bond was issued in two tranches: US$750 million with a 5-year tenor and US$750 million with a 10-year tenor. For the first tranche, the yield-to-maturity amounts to 5.638%, based on a coupon of 5.625% p.a. and an issuance price of 99.944%. For the second tranche, the yield to maturity amounts to 6.034%, based on a coupon of 6.000% p.a. and an issuance price of 99.747%. The issuance was met with very strong interest from investors, and the order book was more than six times oversubscribed.

This is RWE’s third US dollar green bond, following issuances in 2024 and 2025, reiterating the company’s commitment to regularly accessing the US dollar bond market. RWE plans to issue €3.0 billion to €3.5 billion of bonds in various currencies per year on average.

The company intends to use the net proceeds to fund its investment programme in accordance with its Green Financing Framework 2023.
