RWE Supply & Trading and Syneco intend to join forces in tackling issues relating to digitisation of special relevance to energy sourcing, each playing to their strengths. Examples are the Synection customer system and portfolio management. The objectives of the intensified co-operation remain to pool expertise and leverage synergies in order to tap new opportunities.
Syneco has been using RWE’s Easy Commodity Trader (ECT) since 2018. “This was a good start for us and our customers,” says Ulrich Danco, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Syneco. “Now we want to expand the co-operation, after it has created a relationship of trust.”
“I am pleased that our intensified co-operation will enable us to reap more benefits for both companies and our customers,” declares Andree Stracke, Managing Director at RWE Supply & Trading. “We consider ourselves to be partners of equal stature to the major municipal players, and would like to help them to become even more competitive.”
In addition to co-operation in the field of digitisation, RWE Supply & Trading and Syneco will join forces in managing the gas storage facilities of Thüga-Plusgesellschaft with a view to further optimising storage usage. One goal is to offer this service to other storage partners as well. Plans also include Syneco strengthening and supplementing RWE Supply & Trading’s range of services via its customer expertise in the municipal utility segment.
