RWE completes installation of all recyclable blades at Sofia Offshore Wind Farm, and over half of all turbines
10.11.2025

The French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) has published the results of the latest onshore wind tender (10th round of the PPE2 – Multiannual Energy Program), for a total capacity target of 925 megawatts (MW). More than 90 projects were submitted, with only 42 selected, representing a total capacity of 952.8 MW at an average price of €86.6/MWh.
RWE has secured two wind projects with a combined capacity of 21.6 MW: the Balinot wind project, located in the Oise department, and the Langonnet project in Morbihan. Each project has an installed capacity of 10.8 MW and consists of three wind turbines. Together, they will supply low-carbon electricity to more than 15,000 households.
Katja Wünschel, CEO RWE Renewables Europe & Australia: “I would like to congratulate all the teams who contributed to RWE’s success in this tender. The consistency of our achievements, tender after tender, reflects the strength of our long-term strategy and the dedication of our teams to developing high-quality projects across France.”
A success that reflects a dynamic year of new projects for RWE in 2025
The year 2025 has been a successful one for RWE in France, with more than 83 MW of wind and solar projects commissioned in recent months. In addition, the Group secured 82 MW in the CRE’s 2024 onshore wind tenders and, with these two new projects, now totals 172.6 MW of onshore wind capacity and 19.6 MWac of solar capacity awarded in the 2025 CRE tenders. This performance positions RWE among the leading players in France’s energy transition.
RWE currently has a portfolio of approximately 1.6 GW of onshore wind projects and 1 GWp of solar projects at various stages of development in France, including 408 MW awarded in CRE’s tenders, and has commissioned 275 MW since entering the French market in 2020.
