Birgit Hiller will take over as Head of Group Communications and Public Affairs at the RWE Group as of 1 October 2025. She has been responsible for Group Communications & Public Affairs at Continental AG since 2021. Prior to that, she spent more than 18 years in various specialist and management positions at the BMW Group. The communications manager succeeds Stephanie Schunck, who is leaving RWE at her own request after more than 30 years, bringing her career to an end. To ensure a smooth transition, Stephanie Schunck will not leave the company until the end of the year.
Markus Krebber, CEO of RWE AG: “Steffi Schunck has played a key role in shaping RWE for over three decades. Her retirement at the end of the year is well deserved. I regret that our collaboration will come to an end. At the same time, I would like to thank her for our close and successful collaboration over the years. Along with my fellow colleagues on the Executive Board, I wish her all the best for the future. In Birgit Hiller we have found an excellent successor with a wealth of experience. I look forward to working with her, and I am confident that she and the team will continue to do a great communications job for RWE.”
Birgit Hiller: “I am excited about the opportunity to work with a dedicated team to shape communications for RWE – and thus contribute to the success of RWE’s strategy. The transition to a carbon-neutral, cost-efficient and secure energy supply system is one of the most important issues of our time. It is crucial for the success of the energy transition that the challenges and progress of the transformation are successfully communicated to the public, political decision-makers and employees. I am really looking forward to this.”
