At the Lausward power plant site in Düsseldorf, Stadtwerke Düsseldorf AG is building a second district heat accumulator with a capacity of 1,340 MWh. District heat accumulators provide a safe and established solution for the timely decoupling of the production and supply of electricity and heat in combined heat and power plants.
Within the scope of this project, RWETI was commissioned to prepare a feasibility study. Our development experts examined the installation space, the necessary operating requirements and permits. In addition, we were responsible for interface, organization, planning and cost management.
On the basis of the feasibility study prepared by RWE, five installation variants were examined and evaluated on the basis of technical and financial criteria. In this way, our experts were able to successfully present a preferred variant to the client. We provided advice in fields of civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, I&C, approval planning and cost estimation.
