Senior Accounting Manager (m/f/d)

 The Senior Finance Manager oversees accounting, financial reporting, cash management, and financial controls for company’s renewable energy projects. This role works closely with the development, construction, and operations teams, acting as one of the main points of contact for all accounting matters.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage general ledger activities for the Australian business and projects
  • Ensure compliance with Australian GAAP and IFRS, including complex areas (e.g., derivatives, revenue)
  • Prepare and review internal and audited external financial statements
  • Handle quarterly IFRS reporting for group consolidation
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely regulatory filings
  • Monitor contracts for proper accounting treatment
  • Provide financial reports and metrics for decision-making
  • Manage balance sheet accounts (fixed assets, receivables, payables)
  • Coordinate with Finance/Treasury on cash flow, debt, and forecasting
  • Collaborate with RWE’s global renewables accounting team
  • Act as main contact for accounting queries
  • Work with internal departments and the Shared Service Centre (SSC) to ensure efficient, high-quality processing
  • Identify and resolve process issues between business and SSC

Qualifications & Experience:

  • CA qualification with 5+ years’ experience, ideally with Big 4 or major CPA firm
  • In-depth IFRS and Australian GAAP knowledge; strong understanding of GL, AP, AR, and fixed assets
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience with audited financial statements and public company compliance
  • Industry experience (wind, power, real estate partnerships) beneficial
  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP), invoice approval tools, and software implementation
  • Cost-conscious and efficiency-driven
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
  • Team player with integrity, initiative, and a collaborative mindset
