Rachel Disney shares her insights on integrating initiatives into daily practices.

Why has investing in the fostering of an inclusive culture been beneficial to the organisation?

Rachel Disney, RWE AG’s Head of Diversity, shares her thinking with us on the effects of building initiatives to foster an inclusive culture into our everyday practices:

RWE recognizes that a diverse workforce and an inclusive environment fosters innovation, creativity and resilience. It helps us attract a broad range of talents, strengthens our ability to navigate complex challenges in such a dynamic sector and makes it an enjoyable place to work. However, in addition to this, it’s also the right thing to do – when people achieve their full potential, it benefits everyone.

RWE's initiatives have resulted in a more representative workforce, with increased participation from underrepresented groups. Our employee networks grow from strength to strength and are a great opportunity for participants while also enriching and enabling us for constant improvement. As an international business, cultural sensitivity is also key – learning and understanding about others is always rewarding.

As the Head of Diversity for RWE AG, I am genuinely inspired by RWE's commitment to creating a workplace where every employee feels included. This commitment isn’t just words but is demonstrated by our employees in how they behave every day, contributing to a workplace where individuals can thrive irrespective of their background.
