Disability Inclusion

In March 2014, the Executive Board of RWE AG approved the RWE Inclusion Action Plan for the German Group companies and decided to implement it. With this plan, RWE is particularly promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities in all corporate activities. The agreed targets will continue to be implemented in the RWE Group companies without innogy SE.

Their lasting effect is reflected in the constant employment rate of people with disabilities, the offer of internships for young people with disabilities and the sustainable barrier-free provision of workplaces for people who are impaired in their participation in the workplace. Our social and societal responsibility towards them is laid down throughout Europe in the Social Charter and the Charter of Diversity and is practically implemented through awareness-raising campaigns and targeted measures in personnel development, training, employment and health as well as appropriate workplace design and accessibility. The fact that inclusion takes place here is also co-designed and monitored by the employee representatives.

The integration of severely handicapped people into the company is our concern. The representatives of the severely disabled represent the interests of people with disabilities and provide advice and assistance.

Although applications from severely handicapped people are expressly welcome at RWE, practice shows that only a few young people with disabilities apply for training at RWE or that applicants do not state their disability. For this reason, the targeted counselling and introduction of young people with disabilities, including special schools and integration offices, to an apprenticeship relationship and the special support of young people in the application and training process should be sought.

In order to additionally support the transition from school to work, we offer ,in cooperation with the LVR-Förderschulen, vocational field investigations and internships for pupils with a disability.

This is a good opportunity to gain a first insight into working life.
