Who we are
An overview of the company
RWE Renewables Americas ranks among the top 10 onshore wind companies in the U.S. and the number of projects there is growing. The U.S. market is a strong focus for the company and its strategy for renewables is geared to growth: RWE will continue to invest annually to expand its wind, solar energy and storage technologies portfolio.
RWE is one of the leading international providers of renewable energy with a clear goal: climate neutrality by 2040. Between 2012 and 2021, the company has already succeeded in reducing its CO2 emissions by more than 55%. This share is to increase every year.
RWE develops, owns, and operates some of the most efficient, highest performing renewable energy projects in the United States. Already active in onshore wind and photovoltaic renewable generation, RWE Renewables Americas has added energy storage to its portfolio and has developed and constructed more than 5,000 megawatts of renewable capacity in the United States since 2007. As part of RWE AG, the goal is to deliver renewable energy from technologies that address the growing concern about energy security, energy affordability, and climate change.
RWE Renewables Americas also builds and develops large-scale photovoltaic plants in Canada. In addition, RWE is active in the offshore wind sector in the United States and has secured one development area off the coast of New York/New Jersey and another off the coast of California through US offshore wind auctions.
