Why she joined the RWE IT Graduate Programme and what she likes about it.

What do you like about the (IT) Graduate Programme?
Do you love to play around with the latest innovative technologies…?
That was the line on the job ad that attracted me to RWE and its graduate programme.
I had just completed my master’s degree in Computer Science and was looking to put my interest in algorithms and data science to use. With a minimal work experience, I felt that I needed to learn more, to move beyond the scope of theory to a practical world where knowledge became substance.
When I came for the 2-day assessment center, I felt that RWE was the place where all these could happen. The staff at the assessment center were relaxed, open and ready to listen and offer guidance. I met people who had started in the company and developed in the way I hope to. So, when the call came, accepting the offer was not hard.
There was an induction for all the graduates in the first week. This was an opportunity to learn soft and technical skills. Also, meeting all the graduates created a sense of community and belonging in a new place.
Currently, I am in my first rotation at Corporate Accounting and Controlling, working and learning about Project Management. The team is comprised of professionals, with years of experience in various fields and they are willing to help. I am a part of the team and I can ask questions freely because everyone is open to provide information.
Also, there is possibility to learn beyond project management and understand how innovation in IT works in RWE.
I am excited about expanding my horizon at RWE with the different rotations.
