To the jobs
Jasmine, Senior Procurement Manager, Solar & Energy Storage at RWE Renewables

RWE is growing internationally and new colleagues are joining #TEAMRWE almost every day. We recently launched our interview series where we talk to newcomers from different areas of RWE. Find out how their first months went, what surprised them at RWE and why they chose to become part of #TEAMRWE.

In the second instalment of the series, we introduce Jasmine, Senior Procurement Manager for Solar & Energy Storage. She reveals the best thing about her work so far, why the unwavering dedication of her colleagues surprised her and what she thinks about combining work and family life at RWE.

What exactly does your job entail and how did you come to work for RWE?

I’m a Senior Procurement Manager on the Capital Equipment Team for Solar & Energy Storage, focusing on inverter procurement. I started out in the solar industry five years ago when I worked in procurement for Hanwha Q CELLS and ultimately became the manager of their Procurement Team. I had also worked in procurement in the aerospace industry for 10 years, with the majority of that time spent at Boeing. I came to work for RWE after a current employee reached out to me on LinkedIn and asked if I would be interested in applying for an open position.

How were your first months at RWE? - Does reality match your expectations?

My first months here at RWE went better than expected. Everyone that I interacted with was so helpful, especially my teammates and hiring manager (shout out to Zoltan!). With RWE having so many people and departments, it was reassuring to know that others are willing to lend a helping hand.

What surprised you the most?

Having a work-life balance is very important in RWE’s culture. All employees are dedicated to their work but take time for their families. It’s great that RWE really encourages that.

What has been the best thing about working for RWE so far?

I would definitely say that it’s representing RWE at trade fairs and meeting our suppliers in person to discuss the future of solar projects for RWE.

What do you like most about working as Senior Procurement Manager for Solar & Energy Storage at RWE?

I love collaborating with development, investment and valuation, construction and technical teams on upcoming and ongoing projects, as well as maintaining relationships with existing suppliers and building new ones.

What are you looking forward to in the future?

I’m looking forward to continuing my time here at a company that is committed to advancing solar power.
