The AI transformation team, part of the broader Strategy department, leads the company’s AI agenda from setting ambition to execution. The team partners with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to define AI priorities and works closely with IT and business functions to deliver against the strategy. It also monitors the evolving AI landscape, translating emerging trends into actionable opportunities in collaboration with relevant business units.
Role Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a high-performing AI transformation team, fostering accountability, innovation, and sustained enterprise impact
- Define and continuously evolve the enterprise AI strategy and multi-year execution roadmap, ensuring direct linkage to corporate strategy, competitive advantage, and long-term value creation
- Own the enterprise AI portfolio, including prioritization, funding alignment, sequencing, and performance tracking across the portfolio
- Lead enterprise-wide AI transformation across business units, ensuring measurable operational improvement and P&L impact
- Drive AI governance forums, stage-gate processes, investment frameworks, and value realization discipline
- Partner with ELT and senior leaders to shape AI-enabled strategic opportunities, competitive positioning, and business model evolution
- Build and nurture high-level strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including AI vendors, technology providers, academic institutions, or industry groups
- Lead the creation and governance of an AI risk management framework (e.g., bias, ethics, data privacy) alongside internal stakeholders
Job Requirements and Experience:
- Master’s or advanced degree in Business, STEM, or related field preferred
- Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience across AI/digital transformation, strategy, management consulting, technology leadership, or related business roles, including minimum 6 years of team leadership
- Depending on the depth and breadth of a candidate's relevant experience, this position may be filled at the Senior Director level with appropriately adjusted expectations for the role and compensation
- Strong working understanding of AI / advanced analytics (GenAI, data architecture, model lifecycle, RAI), with the ability to evaluate feasibility, risks, and value trade-offs and translate them into practical business applications
- Demonstrated strategy expertise with a track record of shaping and delivering large-scale, enterprise transformations
- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale digital / AI transformation programs end-to-end, from strategic blueprinting through scaled deployment with strong product management discipline across value, roadmap, and lifecycle management
- Exceptional problem-solving ability, structuring highly complex, ambiguous challenges into clear strategic priorities and executable solutions
- Executive presence with demonstrated ability in engaging and influencing senior leaders on transformation priorities, value agenda, and trade-offs
- Strong execution discipline, balancing long-term ambition with near-term value realization
- Visionary leader with exceptional drive and relentless commitment to delivering enterprise-level impact
- Exceptional leadership and team development skills, building and nurturing high-performing teams, and establishing strong, strategic partnerships with external stakeholders
- Adaptable, self-reflective, and committed to personal and team growth
- This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other RWE Americas and field locations
- Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time
