To start as soon as possible, full time, permanent

As Offshore Service Technician technician Offshore Troubleshooter HV you will be responsible for carrying out HV field operations, maintenance work and troubleshooting tasks.
You are actively engaged in the economical and uninterrupted operation as well as continuous optimization at the wind farm Nordseecluster (104 x 15 MW WTGs and two subtations). You will work in a 14/14-day shift pattern with a back-to-back from the opposite shift. Port location will be Eemshaven/NL.


About the role

  • As Offshore Service Technician Troubleshooter HV technician you are responsible for carrying out fault investigation, inspection and maintenance work of medium and high voltage systems at WTG and the offshore sub stations of the project.
  • During the startup / installation / commissioning you will be temporarily at our supplier site (sub-station dry dock) as well in the field to support start up and energization activities as a secondee into RWE’s Construction department.  
  • Independently perform diagnostic/troubleshooting, troubleshooting or repair tasks requiring highly specialised skills and expertise for specific components
  • You will also be responsible for supervising, quality control and instructing service providers in the context of HV maintenance.
  • Responsibility for the control and acceptance of the activities, including the issuance of work permits (PTW) in the electrotechnical field (for this purpose, acquisition of the switching authorization) as well as the approval of the use of strategic spare parts.
  • Team lead for junior technicians in routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repair
  • You will take on certain offshore-specific roles for operational management and for the fulfilment of the emergency concept.
  • Close collaboration with the leadership team at SOV and the responsible Sr. Electrical Engineer (VEFK) of the project.

Occupational Health & Safety (HSE)

  • Ensuring the "Zero lncident Policy" and compliance with the specifications regarding occupational health and safety and environmental protection in compliance with the technical guidelines
  • Responsible for the registration as well as the briefing of external service providers
  • Conducting the morning toolbox talk and evening debriefings with the offshore technicians and the control room team

Your profile

  • Successfully completed training as an electrician engineer or mechanic (EFK)
  • At least two years of professional experience in maintenance on medium and high voltage systems at WTG and offshore substation
  • Professional experience and training in the installation, operation and maintenance of medium and high voltage technology.
  • A strong ability to work in a team, initiative and a high level of commitment characterize your way of working.
  • Valid offshore training according to GWO standards
  • Good English and German skills both spoken and written
  • Strong focus on occupational safety and implementation of occupational safety and environmental standards
